We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated veterinarian to join our team, working with swine and/or poultry. Whether you’re a new graduate or an experienced vet, we welcome candidates from all backgrounds—small animal, cattle, dairy, or other fields—who have a passion for herd health management.

This is a full-time position that is based out of Lethbridge, Alberta or Saskatoon Saskatchewan. Job Description:

  • Provide comprehensive veterinary care to swine herds and/or poultry flocks, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases with a focus on epidemiology
  • Conduct regular health assessments and develop herd and/or flock health plans.
  • Perform export assessments and complete paperwork for exportation of livestock.
  • Perform surgical procedures and monitor anesthesia.
  • Assess welfare and biosecurity as well as develop solutions and tools with producers.
  • Work with producers on quality assurance programs
  • Auditing quality assurance programs, health programs and welfare practices.
  • Collaborate with swine and poultry producers to optimize herd management practices.
  • Educate clients on best practices for swine and/or poultry health and biosecurity.
  • Stay current with advancements in swine and/or poultry veterinary medicine and apply new techniques and treatments.
  • Data analysis

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school
  • Permanent resident, eligibility for PR or Citizen of Canada

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Registered Veterinary Technician. This position is a temporary contract position to cover maternity/parental leave. The contract duration will be 18 months, from Jan 2, 2025 to June 30, 2026.

This position is based primarily out of our Red Deer office. From time to time, you may be asked to work out of our Lethbridge office and/or assist veterinarians on farms in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Job Description:

  • Complete in-house laboratory procedures, record, invoice, and report results as appropriate
  • Preparation of samples to be sent for off-site testing
  • Clean and organize lab, sterilize equipment, sharpen knives, restock kits as needed
  • Assist with quality control programs through on farm work and completion of paperwork
  • Assist veterinarians on farm calls, phone calls, emails, processing, and equipment maintenance
  • Assist with post-mortems and disease investigations, transcribe postmortem results and report accordingly
  • Assist clinic staff with customer service, providing information on diseases, pharmaceuticals, and procedures
  • Prepare client handouts and educational material
  • Assist with exporting duties when needed
  • Foster continuation of mentorship with students and new hires
  • Dispensing medications and vaccines
  • Assist with warehouse duties as needed

Requirements for Application:

  • Registered Veterinary Technologist in the province of Alberta or eligible to be registered in Alberta
