Prairie Livestock Veterinarians welcomes Dr. Jenny Nicholds

Prairie Livestock Veterinarians are thrilled to announce that Dr. Jenny Nicholds will be joining our poultry team in the fall of 2025 and will be based out of Saskatchewan.

Dr. Jenny Nicholds is a poultry veterinarian and educator who will be joining the Prairie Livestock Veterinarians (PLV) team full-time in Saskatchewan in the fall of 2025. She previously served as a Clinical Associate Professor of Avian Medicine and Director of the Diagnostic Laboratory at the Poultry Diagnostic and Research Center, University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Nicholds brings a wealth of expertise in poultry health, with professional interests including parasitology and metabolic disease. She is a two-time recipient of the American Association of Avian Pathologists’ award for Best Field Case/Diagnostic Report (2017 and 2018), recognizing her outstanding contributions to field diagnostics.

Over the past two years, PLV has benefited from Dr. Nicholds’ support as a mentoring consultant, and the team is thrilled to welcome her as a full-time member of the poultry team.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Nicholds and her husband are restoring a vintage Airstream trailer and are currently camping their way back to Canada with their two daughters. A former triathlete, she transitioned to distance running during the pandemic and has since completed eight half marathons and one full marathon.
